It's been 12 weeks since both Mom2Mom and my little man, Cole, were born. I can't believe it. They say time flies when you're having fun - but I guess it's the same when your days consist of diaper changes, bottles, naps and giggling babies.
Today is my first day back at work. I decided to have a trial run for daycare so both Cole and I would have a little time to get used to things. That was a good idea because I got most of my tears out on Friday. Plus, I have enough to keep me busy and my mind off of things here today. However, it's early. Check back at noon to see how I'm doing.
I'm on the hunt for a pair of sunglasses for my 2-month-old son. I want the ones that have the strap so they stay on. Anybody know where I can find those locally? If no locally, than online?
I'm a new mom with a beautiful little boy who turned 2 months today. We've certainly had our challenges (trying to gain weight, acid reflux and finding some sort of routine), and there have been quite a few times that I wasn't sure if I was doing "it" right.
We're trying to get our 8-week-old to sleep through the night. I know he's ready (and so are mom and dad) because when he does wake up it's at 4 a.m. on the dot every time. So we think it's more his internal clock than hunger that triggers him. I know there are several tips out there - just wondering what has worked for you guys.
He already sleeps through his late-night feeding (10:30 p.m.) sometimes so he technically sleeps 7 hours on occasion, which is nice. But I think he's ready to eliminate that middle-of-the-night feeding too.
Let me know what's worked best for you. Thanks!
Our 7-week-old doesn't seem to like to take naps in the afternoon/evening. We've really been working at lying him down at nap time and letting him cry and calm himself (until he gets to whaling for a couple minutes and then we check on him). But it's been very hard to get him to settle down. We're trying not to use the pacifier to do that - but sometimes that's all that works. And even then if he does go to sleep - it's only for 15-30 minutes and then he wakes up again.
Ok ladies - Father's Day is only a few weeks away and I have no idea what to get my husband. And this is the big one - his first. Of course there are things he wants - golf clubs, tech toys, etc. - but I'm looking for other ideas. Got any?
I'm looking for ideas on cool birth announcements. Any ideas of cool stores, web sites or ideas for our little boy's birth announcements? My husband and I both want something unique and I need something that's relatively easy.
Thanks in advance!
Laura
Today is my first Mother's Day - and what a special day it was. Both my mother and mother-in-law were here to share this with us. Cole was such a good little boy today and gave even went back to sleep so his mom could enjoy her mother's day lunch with the rest of the family.
Happy Mother's Day to all of you in the Mom2Mom community. How did you celebrate your special day?
I know this is a few days early - but who knows when I'll be on the computer again.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. Even though I always knew being a mother was a special job - I obviously had no idea how true that was until I became a mother myself 4 weeks ago today.
Being a mom is by far the hardest job I've ever had - and yet of course, the most rewarding. Our little one is battling acid reflux, although I'm hoping with this new prescription that we'll get it under control and can start some what of a normal family life.
Even though our little one is doing much better at night now that he no longer has his days and nights mixed up - nights are still challenging with a newborn. Waking up every 3 hours can do crazy things to a person. Although things are going much better now than they were a week ago, nights are still trying on my husband and me. We're no longer cursing at each other as frequently - but there are times that I'm definitely shorter with him than I'd like.
