Does anyone know anything about Toddle Town on Lady's Island? I have a friend who said her 1-year-old attended a birthday party there recently and had a great time, but I'm not sure what it's all about. From her description it sounds similar to a Gymboree, but online it's listed as Toddle Town Baby Gym and Preschool, so the preschool part is throwing me off.
I'm on the lookout for things to do with my 10-month-old and there is such a limited number of activities for that age around here. Anyone been to Toddle Town, or might recommend anything similar? I live in Beaufort and the Beaufort library doesn't have story times for little ones that young.

A friend mentioned this new site as a possible way to advertise Toddle Town, but a reply to Robyn's blog might just do the trick. As the owner of Toddle Town (and a certified SC teacher), I hope I can answer all of Robyn's questions plus more. Toddle Town is a 3-part business with gym classes for babies who can sit up - 5-year-olds, a preschool for 2-4-year-olds and a hassle-free place to have birthday parties for 1-6-year-olds. You do not have to attend the preschool in order to come to the gym classes or have a birthday party. The gym classes are held Mon-Fri and the preschool has 2 classes: 1 for 2-3s on Wed & Fri and 1 for 4s on Tues & Thurs. The younger students come from 9-11:30 and the older students come from 9-2 (they have the option of leaving at 11:30). Next year, we are expanding to 3 days a week. The gym classes are held at various times and I will post those on the calendar on this website or you can call 524-0777 for more info (or email me). We are also registering for summer camps to be held in June, July or August. I will post those on the calendar as well or you can call or email me. Hope this helps. Stop by to see us (55 Sams Point Road).
Also, if you can't attend one of the scheduled times for gym, we hold open gym times that you can call to reserve a time. I forgot to put this in my first comment!
Do you have a website for toddle town?
Unfortunately, no website yet. I am much better with kids than technology but I am open to suggestions on how to easily and cheaply create one.
To respond to your question about Birthday Parties: My son had his 2nd and 3rd Birthday Parties at Toddle Town (he is currently 3 years old). Both parties were fantastic! All I had to do was let the owner know what type of party that I wanted, how many children to expect, and then show up! She did all the work, and I was able to enjoy the party.
My son has also participated in the Baby Gym Classes, and my daughter currently attends one for her age group (she is 17 months old). Every time we ride by Toddle Town they beg to go "play."
Finally, my son has participated in Toddle Town's Summer Camps and they are AWESOME! In fact, I have enrolled him in every Toddle Town Camp offered for 2008 except for one (and that is because we will be out of town!).
Give it a try - you will NOT be disappointed.
