Preschool sickness

As I sit here at my desk with my box of Puffs plus tissues and assorted cold remedies, etc....I'm wondering if, perhaps there is an answer to how long it takes a new to preschool child to build up the immune system.

Matthew started "school" two weeks ago. We were thrilled to finally get him off the Amazing Creations waiting list and into the classroom, albeit 3 days a week. He went his first Monday and Wednesday, and woke up Thursday with the snottiest little nose i had ever seen, and a cough, and an ear infection. 24 hours after that, Mommy had it and so did Daddy. It's been a week, and we still feel cruddy. Matthew went back to school yesterday, thanks to an Omnicef precription, but i'm wondering how long it will take him to pick up the next bug that is going around. I was told that it is a stomach virus this week!

So again, i ask...how long did it take your child to stop picking up every single illness at school? Or, God forbid...does it NEVER stop?? AS much as i'd love to keep Matthew in a bubble, i know that it not practical or even possible for that matter....but people keep telling me he needs to build up his immune system. Is this a month process, a year? HELP!!!
