I recently found out that the father of my child has been diagnosed with cancer. They are not close, and neither are he and I. We have only seen him once in the last 3 years. But still, this is her father. My daughter is 8 and in third grade. I do not know what to say, if anything, to her about it. I am looking for some advice on how to approach this sensitive subject with my very sensitive little girl. I do not yet know his prognosis, as this is all very new.
Hi Moms,
According to the National Safety Council "More children under four die of accidental poisonings at home than are accidentally killed with guns at home."
"After analyzing 2,983 chemicals used in personal care products, 884 were found to be toxic." -National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health
I figured if I wanted info about a town, the best course of action would be to talk to other mom's! My husband accepted a position at the Air Station, so we will be down soon. We are trying to sell our home in PA and find affordable housing there. Can anyone give some direction of places that are family friendly? I have been reading the online newspaper and see there are some crime waves going on in N. Beaufort County...where is that? Any advice on the area would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Beth
Hey moms.... I just had my newborn's and 2 yr old's pictures taken by a local photographer and I just wanted to share her with you because her pictures are beautiful!!!
You have got to check out www.apriltoddphotography.com She is absolutely wonderful and I couldnt be happier with the pictures. She lives here in Bluffton and knows a lot of great places to do photo shoots. Her website shows she does maternity pics, family pics, children of all ages, and more!
Check out the MOMS Club of Bluffton/Hilton Head! This club is perfect for full time or part time stay at home moms. After you join the club, you receive a monthly calendar that is full of activities for you and your lil ones. We have playgroups, parties, and group events at playground, pools, and member houses. We also have a very popular mom's night out once a month so you can eat a grown up meal with adults and leave the kids at home!
Given the last ten years of violence by school-age kids (at their own schools), and by this week's activity at Chesterfield High School here in SC, where a student was caught planning to bomb the school....let me pose this question:
How do you raise a kid today?
I'm 30. I definitely didn't have to worry about one of MY former classmates blowing up our school or going on a shooting spree in 3rd period Math class. So, obviously, times and the world have changed a bit. Do parenting strategies change with it?
Let me know your thoughts.
If you've never been, it's really a small-town street fest.
Very laid back!
Weather will be great.
My baby's a week-and-a-half old and his burp cloths already look like they've been left in the middle of Hwy 278 for a month.
Two Questions:
1. How do you get formula stains out of baby clothes?
2. How do formula companies get away with NOT making their product "Stain Proof?" That seems like the million-dollar business idea, right?
Thanks!
