MOMS-Plus is a weekly Bible study and encouragement group for young mothers of all ages with children of all ages. We provide childcare during our meetings. For Mothers of Adolescents, we offer MOANS: Mothers Of Adolescants Needing Support. This is the 13th year for MOMS-Plus. Please join us to meet new friends, learn more about the Bible and be encouraged in your role as mother. Start: 9:00 am

Island Playground will be holding a 5-week mini-session of Mommy 'N Me classes beginning Tuesday, May 6th. Classes offered include Fit 'N Play (ages 18 month to 3 years), Create 'N Play (ages 2 to 4 years) and Ballet 'N Play (ages 2 to 4 years). Classes are 45 minutes and parent participation is required. Children are welcome to Stay 'N Play for free in the playground after their class! Start: 9:00 am

The CHEC BOOK BLAST is the area's largest used curriculum and book sale. You'll find great summer reading material for your kids and yourself, as well as curriculum for summer remediation in different subjects or to use as add-ons during the school year. The event is open to the public, but you must register either online (www.GoCHEC.org) or at the door. $10 per adult admits you to the BOOK BLAST and the 2 day conference. Children are free and can attend all events, as long as they do not disturb the other participants. Start: 9:00 am

CHEC 2008 is the Coastal Home Educator's Conference a parenting, education and homeschool event that will feature Christian family counselor, Lou Priolo teaching on two of his books, The Heart of Anger - Practical Help for the Prevention and Cure of Anger in Children (AND Teens!) and Teach Them Diligently - How to Use the Scriptures in Child Training. There will be workshops on how to teach the very young child, how to remediate academic weakness, using manipulative-based math-u-see, and lots more. | ||
